Police suspend Big B ex-guard over service rules ‘violation’ | India News – Times of India

MUMBAI: Actor Amitabh Bachchan’s former security guard, head constable Jitendra Shinde, who was under the scanner after reports emerged that he allegedly earned an annual income of Rs 1. 5 crore, was suspended on Tuesday for “gross violation” of service rules, reports Mateen Hafeez . A departmental enquiry was initiated on Tuesday as well. The probe reportedly found Shinde had made four foreign trips between 2017 and 2018, said an officer.
Shinde was assigned the responsibility of being Bachchan’s bodyguard in 2015. In August 2021, he was transferred from the protection branch to the D B Marg police station in August after reports about his income went viral. Bachchan has been provided with X-category security. Shinde was a part of it. Shinde was suspended by Dilip Sawant, additional police commissioner (south region), on Tuesday. A full-fledged inquiry was conducted by the ACP Pydhonie division.
“. . . First, he travelled thrice to Dubai and once to Singapore during 2017 and 2018 without taking permission. . . Secondly, he started a security agency in the name of his wife and personnel from the agency were deployed at the actor’s bungalow. Some money came in his personal account in the name of security. Thirdly, he has purchased and sold houses three times without obtaining permission. . . ,” said an officer.
