Congress takes ‘ease of committing fraud’ dig at government | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Congress on Thursday accused the government of running “loot and escape” and “ease of committing fraud” schemes to assist bank fraudsters in the country. Targeting Prime Minister Nar endra Modi for his silence on the ABG Shipyard scam, Congress spokesperson Gourav Vallabh sought to know why the government had not recovered Rs 13,975 crore from the co mpany even after the Debt Recovery Tribunal in Ahmedabad ordered this in 2018.
The DBT, Congress said, had said in its order that if ABG Shipyard fails to pay up, the amount should be recovered by selling ABG’s movable and immovable property, but the banks did not act. Vallabh alleged complicity, collusion and connivance of those sitting in the Modi government. “Why did the Modi government refuse to take note of public allegations made 4 years ago. . . ?” Vallabh added.
