The blast took place yesterday during afternoon prayers at the mosque when a large number of people, including police personnel, had gathered to offer prayers. Terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the bombing and asked the authorities to ensure all possible treatment for the victims. He demanded strict action against those involved in the attack.
