Lakshmika Sajeevan, a rising star in the Malayalam film industry, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2023, due to a heart attack. She was 24 years old.
According to reports, Lakshmika was in Sharjah, UAE, where she had gone to attend a film festival. She collapsed in her hotel room and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead.
Lakshmika’s family, friends, fans, and colleagues are in a state of shock and grief over her sudden and untimely demise. Her mortal remains will be brought back to her hometown Kochi, Kerala, for the last rites.
Lakshmika made her acting debut in 2018 with the Malayalam comedy film Panchavarna Thatha, directed by Ramesh Pisharody. She gained popularity and recognition for her performance in the short film Kaakka, directed by Aju Ajeesh, in which she played the lead role of Panchami, a tribal girl who fights for her rights and dignity.
She also acted in other Malayalam films such as Oru Yamandan Premakadha, Puzyahamma, and the upcoming film Thirike, which is yet to be released. She was also a model and had appeared in several advertisements and photoshoots.
Lakshmika was known for her beauty, grace, and versatility as an actress. She had a passion for acting and dancing since her childhood and had pursued a degree in Tourism Administration. She had a huge fan following on social media and was admired for her simplicity and humility.
Lakshmika’s death is a huge loss for the Malayalam film industry and the Indian cinema at large. She will be remembered for her talent, charm, and spirit. May her soul rest in peace.
