A team from Manpur Police Station, operating under District Police Baddi, seized 14.79 grams of chitta (heroin) from an Alto car during a routine vehicle check near Kheda. The operation, conducted as part of a blockade effort, led to the immediate arrest of the driver, whose identity has not yet been disclosed by authorities. The accused was presented before Nalagarh Court, which granted a 5-day police remand to facilitate further investigation into the case.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Baddi, Ashok Verma, stated that the recovery occurred when officers stopped a vehicle traveling from Nalagarh. “During the vehicle checking near Kheda, we recovered 14.79 grams of chitta from the car,” Verma said, adding that the ongoing interrogation of the accused could yield critical insights into the drug’s origin and distribution network. Police suspect the consignment may be linked to a larger supply chain, and the investigation aims to uncover any additional connections.
The seizure reflects ongoing efforts by District Police Baddi to curb drug trafficking in the region, with vehicle checks forming a key part of their strategy. Authorities have not released further details about the accused or the case, pending the outcome of the remand period. The development has drawn attention to the persistent challenge of drug-related activities in the area, prompting calls for heightened vigilance among law enforcement agencies.
