Royal challenger Bangalore and their talisman Virat Kohli won their first Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy after 17-year-wait on Tuesday night of 3rd June 2025 against Punjab Kings by 6 runs in the finals in Ahmedabad, thanks to Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

But the Key focus was Virat Kohli’s emotions rushing out of his eyes even before RCB’s win. However, this time the stadium of Ahmedabad were echoing with the chant of “E Sala Cup naamdu” meaning “this year, the cup is ours”. City of Bengaluru Celebrated this grand victory by bursting fire crackers around the cities, later Virat Kohli announced that a victory parade and special celebrations will be held in the city, urging fans to join the parade.

After RCB’s victory former batsman from RCB AB de villiers and Chris Gayle were honoured by Virat Kohli and the franchise to join the team on the podium to lift the Trophy along with Virat Kohli, later Virat and Anushka seems to have an iconic virushka moment where Kohli rushed and hugged his wife Anushka Sharma and shared an emotional moment.

Punjab’s captain Shreyas Iyer, who is the first captain in history to lead 3 franchise to the finals of the league, who was uncapped and gave outstanding performances this whole season acknowledged Krunal Pandya’s game changing effort. Furthermore, Shreyas ignited the hopes of Punjab Kings fans and reassured that he will do his best to bring a trophy for PBKS next year. Adding more, he acknowledged the youngsters and their efforts in the league “There are a lot of youngsters who are playing their first season, and they’ve shown a lot of fearlessness. We wouldn’t be here without them, Kudos to them”, said Iyer in the post-game interview

Social media have been flooded with fans supporting their favourite team RCB, while millions of people showed empathy to the owner of Punjab Kings Preity Zinta and were praising her dedication, loyalty and investment in the team. One fan wrote in a x post “she is also waiting for the past 18 years” while many fans posts clips of Preity Zinta walking down the stadium with tears in her eyes. Preity Zinta was seen walking down the stadium with visible disappointment and heartbreak. She was dressed in a white kurta with a red dupatta and salwar. Preity was also seen approaching the players including the captain Shreyas Iyer, to console the team and offer words of comforts.
