New Delhi, Aug 16 ISRO chief S. Somnath congratulated the team on the successful launch of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV). He announced that the development process of the SSLV has reached its conclusion and that the technology will be transferred to the private sector.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched the third and final developmental mission of its Small Satellite Launch Vehicle, carrying the EOS-08 earth observation satellite. This compact vehicle, designed to carry up to 500 kg to space, was developed by ISRO with the goal of commercialization.
