The 11th edition of the CII Manufacturing Conclave East, held on July 5, 2024, at The Cruze, Jamshedpur, brought together eminent leaders from the industry to discuss the future of manufacturing. With the theme “Future Ready to Future Proof Manufacturing,” the conclave aimed to prepare the industry for upcoming challenges and opportunities.
Mr. Kamal Bali, President and Managing Director, Volvo Group India Pvt Ltd, emphasized India’s potential to become the third-largest economy in the world, with a growth rate of 8% per annum. He highlighted eight mega trends that can boost the manufacturing sector, including adaptability, flexibility, and free-footedness. Mr. Suvendra Behera, Chairman, CII Eastern Region, expressed concern over brain drain and emphasized the need for skill development and training centers in India.
Other industry leaders, including Mr. Ranjot Singh, Chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council, Mr. Ramphal Nehra, Chairman, CII ER Manufacturing Sub Committee, and Mr. Ujjal Chakraborti, Immediate Past Chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council, shared their insights on the manufacturing sector’s growth, government initiatives, and the importance of sustainability.
The conclave witnessed participation from over 200 industry leaders, policymakers, and experts, who discussed crucial topics such as global value chains, future technologies, and inclusive and sustainable manufacturing practices. The event provided networking opportunities for forging partnerships and exploring new business prospects.
