Nashik, July 1: The renovated Artillery Museum, now known as the Kumaramangalam Artillery Museum, was inaugurated today at the Artillery Centre in Nashik, Maharashtra. The event coincided with the birth anniversary of former Army Chief General Paramasiva Prabhakar Kumaramangalam.

The museum boasts a 3-D film on the Kargil war, offering a immersive experience of the challenges faced by the armed forces in rugged terrain. It also showcases the rich history of artillery and its significant contribution to India’s military heritage.

The museum, a major tourist attraction in Nashik, features various selfie points and legendary stories of Umrao Singh, a Victoria Cross recipient in World War II, and the famous Tangail airdrop during the Liberation War of Bangladesh.

The foundation stone of the museum was laid by General Kumaramangalam on November 16, 1968, and it was inaugurated on September 27, 1970.
