* Action taken in Ballia against policemen involved in illegal recovery. Nineteen policemen including Narhi SHO suspended. SP and ASP removed.
* Paris Olympics will be formally started today. Six players from Uttar Pradesh are included in India’s one hundred seventeen member team.
* Dates of examinations for more than 60 thousand posts of Uttar Pradesh Reserve Civil Police have been announced. The examination will be held continuously from 23 to 25 August, then on 30 and 31 August.
* In view of the Kanwar Yatra, all schools up to class 12 in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur and Hapur will remain closed from today till August 2.
