Ram Chandra Poudel has been elected the third President of Nepal

Senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel has been elected as the third President of Nepal. In the presidential election, he defeated CPN-UML Vice President Subhash Chandra Nembang by 33 thousand 802 votes. Mr. Nembang got 15 thousand 518 votes. A total of 313 members of the federal parliament and 518 members of the provincial assemblies participated in the voting.

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal Shri Poudel Member of CPN’-Maoist Centre, CPN United Socialist, Janata Samajwadi Party of Nepal, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal, Janmat Party, Civil Liberation Party, Rashtriya Janmorcha and Nepal Samajwadi Party and Nepali Congress were joint candidates.
