Constable Kulwinder Kaur, who was suspended for allegedly slapping actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport last month, has been transferred to a unit in Bengaluru pending a disciplinary inquiry. The transfer comes as the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) investigates the incident, which led to Kaur’s suspension on June 6.
According to official sources, Kaur has been posted to the 10th reserve battalion in Bengaluru, and a senior commandant-rank officer is conducting the inquiry. Statements from Kaur, her colleagues, and airline officials are being recorded, and the inquiry is expected to take some time.
Kaur, a 2009 batch constable from Punjab, had been deployed at Chandigarh airport since 2021 and had no prior vigilance inquiries or punishments against her. Her husband is also posted at the same airport.
The incident allegedly occurred when Ranaut, who was traveling to Delhi, had a disagreement with Kaur over her stance on the farmers’ protests.
