In a move to make learning more engaging and stress-free, the Education Ministry has announced the introduction of new textbooks for class 3 and 6 from the academic year 2024-2025. The textbook development work is in its final phase, with nine textbooks for Grades 3 and 6 already available. The remaining eight textbooks are expected to be available soon.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed the progress of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbook development with senior officials in New Delhi. The Ministry aims to provide economically priced, high-quality textbooks to make learning joyful and stress-free for better learning outcomes, as per the National Education Policy 2020.
NCERT is constructing new textbooks for Classes 1 to 12 to fully realize the provisions of NEP 2020 and National Curriculum Framework for School Education. The new textbooks are designed to make learning more engaging and stress-free, with a focus on better learning outcomes.
