Government Holds All-Party Meet Ahead of Budget Session, Assures Smooth Functioning of Parliament

To get a grip on the functioning of both the Houses of Parliament during the ensuing Budget session beginning from tomorrow, the government in a bid to prevent any hassle summoned an all-party meeting yesterday, that is on Sunday. While preserving the dignity of the house, parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju presented that the government is willing to talk on any issue with an open heart and hence, both the sides of the political divide have equal responsibility to ensure good conduct of the parliament.

In the meeting, Congress wanted a debate on different subjects like the NEET paper leakage issue, Railway Security, Agniveer Scheme, Centre-State relations and security scenario in Manipur and Jammu and Kashmir. Jairam Ramesh, the party’s leader also emphasized on economic subjects and called for debates on them.

The meeting involved the union ministers together with the opposition leaders and other members from different parties. The Budget Session will commence tomorrow with the tabling of the Economic Survey 2023 by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unrolling the Union Budget 2024-25 on Tuesday.
