Global Passport Ranking 2024: Singapore Tops The List
The Henley Passport Index has released the 2024 list of the world’s most powerful passports ranking travel document by the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. Henley and Partners are London-based global citizenship and residence advisory firm. Therefore, the Henley Passport Index is the original, authoritative ranking of all the world’s passports.
The index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). It is one of the largest, hence most accurate travel information databases. It has been enhanced by Henley and Partners’ research team. Thereby, IATA maintains the most extensive and precise database of travel information across the globe.
Here are the top 10 most powerful passports in 2024:
Singapore ranks number one, as it offers visa-free access to 195 countries. Hence, it is declared as the world’s most powerful passport, as per the list.
France, Germany, Japan, Italy, and Spain, ranked number two. These countries offer visa-free access to 192 countries.
Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, South Korea and Sweden, ranked number three. These countries provide passport holders to access 191 destinations.
Belgium, Denmark, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom, ranked number four worldwide. These countries provide visa-free access to 190 countries.
Australia and Portugal are at number five. They provide visa-free access to 189 countries all over the world.
Greece and Poland ranked number six. These countries provide visa-free access to 188 countries.
Canada, Czechia, Hungary, And Malta ranked number seven. These countries provide passport holders to access 187 countries.
United States, ranked number eight. Hence, it provides visa-free access to 186 countries
Estonia, Lithuania, United Arab Emirates ranked number nine. They provide visa-free access to 185 countries.
Lastly in the top 10 list, Iceland, Latvia, Slovakia, and Slovenia ranked number ten. Hence, they provide visa-free access to 184 countries across the globe.
These were the top 10 most powerful passports of 2024. Singapore passport has been named the world’s most powerful passport. On the other hand, India ranked 82nd on the list. India allows its citizens to travel to 58 countries without a visa. Popular destinations in India include are, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and so on. Whereas Pakistan ranked 100th, providing visa-free access to 33 countries only. Afghanistan is at the bottom of the list with visa-free access to only 26 countries.
All over, the Henley Passport Index 2024 July includes 199 passports with 227 travel destinations globally. Hence, it is considered the standard reference tool for global citizens and sovereign states.
