On July 18, 2024, Tishaa Kumar, daughter of former actor Krishan Kumar, died of cancer at the age of 21. She fought a prolonged battle with cancer. She was undergoing treatment in Germany for about three years and lost her life at the hospital.
Tisha Kumar was the cousin of Bhushan Kumar, who is the chairperson of T-series. She was born on September 6, 2003. Parents are Krishan Kumar and Tanya Singh. She was a type of private person and had very limited appearances in public. There is not much information about her. She was sometimes seen on t-series’ screenings.
Krishan Kumar, father of Tishaa Kumar, is the former actor, producer and also the co-owner of T-series with his nephew Bhushan Kumar. He is known for his role in “Bewafa Sanam”, a film of 1995 and “Kasam Teri Kasam”. Many hit films are produced by both such as Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Animal, etc. Krishan Kumar do not have a successful career in the field of acting. After the demise of his brother Gulshan Kumar in 1977, Krishan took over the management of T-series until his nephew, Bhushan Kumar, became enough capable to manage T-series.
After the death of Tishaa, T-series released a statement which confirmed her demise. The statement says, “Tishaa Kumar, daughter of Krishan Kumar, passed away yesterday after a prolonged battle of illness. This is a difficult time for the family, and we kindly request that the family’s privacy is respected”.
Tisha’s last public appearance was in November 2023 when she attended the premiere of Sandeep Reddy Vange’s Animal movie including the lead role of Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptti Dimri, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. T-series was the producer of that film. There she posed on red carpet with her father Krishan Kumar.
The last rites of Tishaa Kumar were performed in Mumbai on Monday. Her demise has led the family and film industry in grief. The whole Bollywood community was seen in the funeral ceremony of Tishaa Kumar, as they came to offer their sympathy and respect and to support the family.
Celebrities including Farah Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sajid Nadiadwala, Saiee Manjrekar and Bhushan Kumar were seen going their way to the location where the last rites were performed. Many other celebrities were seen at the venue. There was a huge gathering of all the Bollywood community which showed up the unity within the Bollywood community.
Heavy rain also followed the day of last rites of Tishaa Kumar adding a sad backdrop to the proceedings.

In the memory of Tishaa Kumar, many celebrities poured tributes on social media. Divya Khossla, wife was Bhushan Kumar, shared a photograph on Instagram where she and Tishaa were seen on a vacation. She captioned the image by adding, “Tishaa you will remain in our hearts forever. Gone so soon @tanyasinghofficial may god give you the strength to go through this most painful loss…#tishaakumar #OmShanti”.
Remembering Tishaa, her cousin Tulsi Kumar also wrote her emotions as, “Our dearest Tishaa, it breaks my heart that you are gone. It was not your time to go, we wanted to see you grow, prosper, achieve success and see you in your wedding dress, not see you like this. Gone too soon my little sister. Love you our princess in our hearts forever. #OmShanti”.
Khushali Kumar also added a post with an emotional note, after demise of cousin sister Tishaa Kumar.
