Gupta Challenges Modi on Sarna Dharma Code Implementation

Jamshedpur, September 15, 2024 – Minister Banna Gupta has raised several pointed questions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following his visit to Jamshedpur and travel on the National Highway 33. Gupta’s questions focus on issues concerning the tribal community, backward caste reservations, and infrastructure development in Jharkhand.

Key Questions Raised by Banna Gupta

  1. Sarna Dharma Code: Gupta questioned whether the Sarna Dharma Code has been implemented for the tribals and, if not, when the Prime Minister plans to announce it, given his professed support for the tribal community.
  2. Backward Caste Reservation: Highlighting Modi’s backward caste background, Gupta asked why no announcement was made regarding a 27% reservation for backward castes.
  3. Chief Ministerial Candidate: Gupta inquired if the BJP, which is keen to oust the current government, would declare Champai Soren as the NDA’s chief ministerial candidate, given the alleged insult he faced.
  4. Jharkhand’s Dues: Gupta demanded to know if the Prime Minister has ordered the central government to pay Jharkhand’s dues amounting to Rs 1 lakh 36 thousand crore, as per the Supreme Court’s order.
  5. Incomplete Infrastructure: Gupta pointed out that despite the Prime Minister inaugurating the four-lane work of National Highway 33 two years ago, the construction remains incomplete in certain sections, leading to daily traffic jams and road accidents. He questioned who is responsible for these deaths and whether there will be an investigation.
  6. Road Conditions: Gupta criticized the condition of the National Highway, noting potholes and other issues, and asked if the Prime Minister would investigate the alleged corruption involved in the road’s construction.

Law and Order in Jharkhand

Gupta also addressed the BJP’s claims about poor law and order and Naxal activities in Jharkhand. He highlighted that Modi traveled 130 kilometers by road without prior information or preparation and faced no security issues, showcasing the strength and dedication of the Jharkhand police and the state government’s effective legal system.
