Congress Leader Dr. Ajay Kumar Condemns BJP’s “Politics of Violence”
Former Member of Parliament and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajay Kumar issued a scathing press statement on Wednesday, denouncing the objectionable remarks made by BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction)’s Sanjay Gaikwad against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.
Dr. Kumar asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) believes in perpetuating a “politics of violence,” implying that these statements were made at the behest of the party’s central leadership.
“The BJP’s rhetoric has crossed all limits of decency and respect,” Dr. Kumar said. “It’s evident that these leaders have been emboldened by their party’s top brass.”
He emphasized that Indian culture is renowned globally for its values of non-violence, harmony, and love. In contrast, the BJP’s behavior is an “example of barbarism in democratic history.”
Dr. Kumar demanded strict legal action against Bittu and Gaikwad for their inflammatory statements, warning that failure to do so would embolden further vitriol and potentially lead to unrest.
Rahul Gandhi’s Rising Popularity Irks BJP
Dr. Kumar attributed the BJP’s vitriol to Rahul Gandhi’s growing support base and the party’s recent electoral setbacks.
“BJP leaders are increasingly frustrated with Rahul Gandhi’s surge in popularity,” Dr. Kumar observed. “Their desperate attempts to malign his image will only backfire.”
Nationwide Protests
Congress workers and leaders across the country have taken to the streets, protesting the BJP leaders’ remarks and expressing solidarity with Rahul Gandhi.
“The people of India have seen through the BJP’s divisive tactics and will reject them in the upcoming assembly elections,” Dr. Kumar predicted.
As tensions escalate, the Congress party has vowed to continue its peaceful protests, demanding accountability from the BJP leadership.
