Dehradun, Sep 26 – Heavy rain lashed several parts of Uttarakhand early on Thursday, significantly raising the water levels of several rivers, including the Dharma Ganga. The swollen river has caused extensive damage to the ongoing reconstruction work along its banks.
The Dharma Ganga flows through the Budhakedar area of Tehri Garhwal district, which had already suffered large-scale infrastructural damage due to a flash flood in July. The flash flood had isolated numerous villages and tragically claimed the lives of a mother and daughter in Toli village.
