National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur has taken a giant leap in the field of space technology by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Space Applications Centre (SAC), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The agreement aims to strengthen academic and research activities between the two institutions.

Professor MK Sinha, Dean, Research and Consultancy, NIT Jamshedpur, and Nilesh M Desai, Director, SAC ISRO, Ahmedabad, signed the MoU on September 10. Dr. Deepak Mishra, Senior Scientist, SAC ISRO, and Dr. Kunal Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, NIT Jamshedpur, witnessed the signing.

According to Professor Gautam Sutradhar, Director, NIT Jamshedpur, this partnership will benefit research scholars and faculty working in space technology. Undergraduate and postgraduate students will have opportunities to conduct research projects at SAC, enhancing NIT Jamshedpur’s technological capabilities.

The MoU also includes organizing conferences, workshops, and hackathons in collaboration with SAC ISRO.
