Jamshedpur, September 26, 2024: Tata Steel Zoological Park (TSZP) organized an awareness session to enhance safety standards at work under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. The session aimed to revisit safety protocols for staff, e-cart drivers, housekeeping personnel, and security teams. This initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Volunteer Group of the Tata Steel Foundation and Tata Steel Zoological Society, reflects a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for staff, visitors, and animals. More than 40 people working at the zoo attended the meeting.

The initiative was guided by Dr. Naim Akhtar, Deputy Director, TSZP, and an expert team from Tata Steel, including Santosh Kumar Singh (Workplace Safety), S. Illavarasu (Central Safety), Amarnath Yogi (Field Maintenance), and Shalini Kujur (Manager, Tata Steel Foundation). The training covered vital topics such as home safety, park safety, and cleanliness standards, ensuring all personnel are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to uphold high safety and hygiene standards. The experts shared their knowledge and experience with the participants.

Workers received valuable insights on identifying potential hazards, implementing effective safety measures, and promoting a culture of cleanliness within the zoo. Emphasis was placed on the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a safe environment for all.

Through this collaboration with Tata Steel, the zoo is not only enhancing the skills of its staff but also reinforcing its commitment to providing a secure and pleasant experience for visitors. Tata Zoo remains dedicated to continuous improvement in safety practices and will conduct regular training sessions to ensure the well-being of staff and visitors.
