G-20 International Financial Architecture Working meeting will be held in Chandigarh from tomorrow
The first of the G-20 International Financial Architecture Working Group under the chairmanship of India will be held in Chandigarh from tomorrow. Anup P. Mathai, Economic Adviser, Department of Economic Affairs, told reporters in Chandigarh today that the International Financial Architecture Working Group is an important arm under the G20 finance track that focuses on strengthening the international financial architecture. Its purpose is to find solutions to the challenges of weak countries.
He said that around one hundred delegates from G-20 member countries, invitees and international organizations would come to Chandigarh to participate in the two-day meeting. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Food Processing Industries Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras will inaugurate the meeting. France and South Korea along with the Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India will moderate the discussions during the meeting. Both these countries are co-chairs of the International Financial Architecture Working Group.
Separately, Central Bank Digital Currency – Opportunities and Challenges will also be discussed during the meeting.
