Nepal’s NC and UML Form Alliance to Establish New Government

Kathmandu, Nepal – In a significant political development, the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN (UML) have agreed to share power and form a new government under the leadership of UML Chair KP Sharma Oli. The agreement outlines ministerial divisions, provincial leadership roles, and a rotation for the prime ministerial position.

According to the pact, UML Chairman Oli will lead the government initially, with the possibility of a rotation mid-term. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided not to participate in the new ruling alliance.

The Nepali Congress has stated that the alliance aims to achieve constitution amendment, political stability, and economic improvement. A meeting of NC office-bearers concluded that consensus with the CPN (UML) was necessary to resolve national issues in constitution implementation.
