Delhi Coaching Centre Flood Tragedy: 7 Arrested, Police Vow Stringent Action
DLC has nabbed five other people connected to the IAS coaching centre flood tragedy case involving the owners of the basement where the incident occurred and the person believed to have tampered the gate of the building. OD said that this worry has been compounded due to the arrest of so far seven persons. Delhi Police said, Law of India and it fully pledged to take stringent action in against the culprits of the grave case. The DCP Central M Harshavardhan stated that the investigation is on from all the relevant perspectives on the case. He said, there was no permission to open a shop contrary to the basement commercial activity regulation. He said that the Police have taken some information from the MCD and will also look into the actions & functions of the MCD also.
The matter was introduced In the Lok Sabha with BJP and congress calling for an investigation into the matter. During the Zero Hour, BJP member Bansuri Swaraj raised it and termed it as due criminal negligence of the Delhi Government.
She said while the Aam Aadmi Party has been in power in Delhi for the last ten years and ruling MCD for the last two years no up gradation and desilting of drains have been brought. She stated that local tenants of Old Rajinder Nagar complained to the local MLA, Councillor and officers but the later remained irrelevant. Ms Swaraj asked the Union Home Ministry to formed a committee into the affair.

Shashi Tharoor of Congress said, nothing would be adequate in such a situation or words to the effect. He stated that corruption in violation of universal norms such as construction norms, fire security and flood security is extensive in the city and the corporation also has this obligation. Mr Tharoor called for an independent audit of the situation.
K.B. Sundar of Manickam applied for a no-objection certificate from the D elect and the local city corporation to operate these coaching centres. He wanted to know what had been done to them or against them so far. Speaking on that issue, independent member Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav also came forward.
