Devotees Throng Shiva Temples on Second Monday of Sawan, Water Offerings Made in Deoghar’s Baba Temple
Deoghar: Today marked the second Monday of the Sawan month when people throng to temples dedicated to lord shiva, especially the Baba temple in Deoghar region to pour water on the deity. The doors of the temples are opened at 4 in the morning and without much delay the water offering through the Argha placed inside the sanctum sanctorum is started by the devotees.
Expressing our gratitude to our Deoghar correspondent, we have been told that the Kanwariyas, which is the term used to refer the devotees, started assembling from the last night and the majority of them had gathered on the ring road by the morning hours. The Kanwariyas are advancing forward unconditionally and now there is proper planning for the needs and safety of the Kanwariyas at each and every place.
Same type of groups of people are also coming to the hill temple in Ranchi, where Jal Abhishek on Lord Shiva is performed.
The second Monday of Sawan is a special one for Lord Shiva followers and Jalabhisek is one of the main processes that are performed. The followers of the Hindu pantheon expect that, washing the Lord Shiva’s statues with water the devotees will receive spiritual progress, and their prayers will be answered on this day.
