In an inspiring achievement, 16-year-old para swimmer Jiya Rai emerged as the world’s youngest and fastest female para swimmer who swam alone in the English Channel. The International open water para swimmer Swam the 34 kilometer distance from Abbots Cliff in England to Pointe De La Courte-Dune France in 17 hours 25 minutes on Sunday and Monday.

Earlier, Jiya had completed many marvelous feats, she too, has disability but she too had also crossed the Palk Bay. She has been honored with several international and national awards among which are; the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PM) – 2022, is the highest civilian Awards for Indians below the age of 18 years old.
Taking the English Channel, India’s pride, Jiya has dedicated her record breaking performance to spreading awareness about autism. The Indian Navy and the Western Naval Command based in Mumbai have been congratulating her for the achievement that was also accompanied by warm wishes. Jiya is a girl whose father is a naval personnel and he is posted at Mumbai.
