Zareen thinks that comparing herself with Katrina Kaif ‘boomeranged terribly badly’ following her launching with Salman Khan in Veer
In the recent episode of Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa Show, the actress Zareen Khan also came as a guest and recently she shared very shameful incident, which she faced in Bollywood and her total journey of Bollywood. Said Zareen Khan who entered Bollywood with Veer opposite Salman Khan in 2010, the problem she faced how she was compared to Katrina Kaif.
Being a part of the Bollywood film Veer as an actress was a major stride in the life of Zareen Khan. But she added that what followed after Veer movie was not very good for her as there were criticisms and so many negative things said about her. Although the beginning for Hina having comparison with the successful actress Katrina Kaif felt as an exciting factor for her it later became a discomfort. At the beginning, Zareen considered the act of comparing her to Katrina as flattering since she was a beauty-diva who looked up to Katrina. However, this fairly quickly started to turn into her disadvantage.
However, in the podcast, Zareen frankly mentioned that the controversy of similarities to Katrina Kaif was not helpful. She said that although she was happy to identify with Katrina who was well known for her beauty and success, the association regrettably acted as a pointer to her weakness thus attracting negative comments. Zareen was regarded as a diva by many of the fraternity members and this might be seen as rude because Salman Khan, one of the Bollywood’s biggest icons, tipped her for the job. This perception of arrogance was aggravated by her sense of rejection of the industry insiders, most of whom she did not know personally and she had only the names of producers and directors to relate to.
The finger pointing that Zareen faced and her feeling of being out of place in the Bollywood world made her so uncomfortable that she almost doubted herself. She identified a phase that was disturbing such that whatever negativity about her looks horrified her and she was afraid to go out of her house. The criticism she received was not only work-related but several persons referred to her weight and physical appearance. Marketing herself to the public exposed her to severe criticism and scorn which affected her psychologically to an extent of wanting to remove herself from the public domain.
However, the situations mentioned above are not the end of the Zareen Khan’s failed career after the movie Veer. She became famous with the movie Ready in 2011 where she acted in the much enjoyed dance sequence “Character Dheela” with Salman Khan. This song became famous and Seasons became a plus in her musical career. Zareen also met with comic success with the 2012 movie Housefull 2, which continues to be one of her souvenir movies. That film also revealed her versatility of bending between comedy and ensemble cast besides establishing her ground in the industry.
Apart from these films, Zareen was a part of multitude of films such as Hate Story 3 (2015), which is a thriller and proved to be another addition to Zareen’s acting profile, Aksar 2 (2017) which is a sequel to the 2006 released Aksar. She is also been a part of the horror drama 1921 (2018), which yet again, proved the actress’s versatility and her ability to explore other genres.
The latter suggests that, despite the fact that Zareen Khan left college to become an actress, the Bollywood industry is highly volatile and unforgiving for those who dare enter the humanities field. Her case proves that often when people reach for the desired result they face challenges and criticism they never considered. Although the life threatened by issues like difficulty in pronunciation impacted her significantly, Zareen’s continued work in Bollywood and the changes that she was able to make as an actress symbolize her defiance and strength.
To sum up, a more profound insight into how Zareen Khan shares the challenges of speaking about an important segment of Indian women’s lives and experiencing the judgments while attempting to sustain a career in Bollywood acting. They clearly depict the stressfulness and obstacles, which actors can experience, and her story speaks about courage and determination of the subject.
