New Train Service to Benefit People of Mithila Region

Jamshedpur: The much-awaited Tata-Jayanagar Express (train number 18119) was flagged off by Jamshedpur MP Vidyut Varan Mahto from platform number one of Tatanagar station on Friday evening. The train, connecting South Eastern Railway to Jayanagar in Bihar, will provide relief to passengers from Tata, Bokaro, Dhanbad to Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani.

The train will leave from Tatanagar every Friday at 6.50 pm and reach Jaynagar the next day at 11.30 am. On its return, Jaynagar-Tata Express (train number 18120) will leave from Jaynagar every Saturday at 7.30 pm and reach Tatanagar the next day at 11.30 am. The train will stop at 17 stations, including Chandil, Muri, Kotshila, Bokaro Steel City, Rajbeda, Dhanbad, Pradhankhunta, Madhupur, Jasidih, Jhajha, Kyul, Barauni, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Sakri, Madhubani, and Jaynagar.

Passenger Convenience

A total of 488 passengers started their journey by this train, including 395 passengers in sleeper class, 69 in third AC, and 24 in second AC. The introduction of this train service is expected to benefit people from the Mithila region, who were demanding this service for a long time.

Dignitaries Present

Apart from MP Vidyut Varan Mahto, Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai, Chakradharpur Division DRM Arun J Rathore, ARM Abhishek Singhal, railway officials, and BJP workers were present during the flag-off ceremony.

“The people living in Jamshedpur were demanding this for a long time. With the start of this train, people from Tata, Bokaro, Dhanbad to Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani will get a lot of relief,” said MP Vidyut Varan Mahto.
