Jamshedpur, August 29, 2024 – The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) successfully hosted the Jharkhand Green Conclave 2024, bringing together esteemed industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to deliberate on emerging green technologies and sustainability strategies.
The conclave, held on August 28, 2024, at Centre for Excellence, Jamshedpur, focused on innovative strategies and practices to achieve net zero, reduce waste, and create a sustainable ecosystem for future generations.
The conclave commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Ranjot Singh, Chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council & Managing Director, Emdet Jamshedpur Private Limited. Singh stressed the critical importance of green and sustainable practices in today’s world, highlighting the urgency of collective action.
“Sustainability is not just a buzzword; it’s a necessity. We must come together to create a greener future,” Singh emphasized.
Dr. Amit Ranjan Chakraborty, Convenor, CII Jharkhand Sustainability, Environment Energy Panel & Chief Environment, Tata Steel Ltd, deliberated on the three pillars of sustainability: Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG).
“We are on the brink of a metalogical catastrophe. ESG is the need of the hour, and collective action is essential,” Chakraborty stated.

Mr. Ritu Raj Sinha, Vice Chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council & Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL, emphasized the importance of individual and corporate commitment to sustainability.
“Sustainability must be at the core of every action undertaken by businesses and individuals. We must recognize the interconnectedness of industries, towns, and individuals,” Sinha said.
Eminent speakers, including Prof. Kalyan Bhaskar, XLRI; Mr. Jayendra Banerji, Catalyst Service Solutions Partners Pvt Ltd; Mr. Vijay Shankar, Axonas Technologies Pvt Ltd (CLIMATEX); and Mr. Prashant K Singh, EY Parthenon, shared their expertise on various aspects of sustainability.
