The sacred Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra has officially started for 2025. From the early hours of July 3, pilgrims began their journey toward the revered cave shrine—one of the holiest sites in Hinduism.
From both Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal in Ganderbal, yatris moved forward under a blanket of tight security. Every step of the route has been planned, guarded, and supported by teams ensuring safety, comfort, and order.
Over 9,000 pilgrims started the trek from Baltal Base Camp this morning. At the same time, more than 3,000 were allowed to proceed from Chandanwari on the Pahalgam route. Smiles, chants, and folded hands—every face told a story of faith.
The Holy Cave, sitting 12,756 feet high in the Himalayas, holds within it the naturally formed ice stalagmite—believed to represent Lord Shiva. Year after year, lakhs of devotees gather from across India to witness this spiritual marvel. This time is no different.
Security this year? Impressive. Layered, meticulous, foolproof. Officials have ensured that the pilgrimage remains not just sacred but secure. Roads are monitored. Camps are guarded. Emergency services are on standby.
Meanwhile, in Jammu, another batch of over 5,000 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in 238 vehicles. Families, elderly devotees, children, and wandering sadhus—everyone headed toward faith’s path.
They’ll reach their base camps by nightfall.
