Jamshedpur, December 14, 2025 – Nearly 120 gynaecologists from across the city gathered in Jamshedpur on December 13 for the 53rd Biannual Conference of the Jamshedpur Obstetrics & Gynaecology Society (JOGS), wrapping up what organizers called a “game-changer” for maternal and fetal care.
This year’s event zeroed in on a hot global topic: how a baby’s health inside the womb shapes their entire life. Experts stressed ramping up early screenings to catch risks, smarter genetic testing for personalized advice, and cutting-edge scans to tackle high-risk pregnancies head-on.
The day kicked off with high-energy MediQuiz showdown, pitting six teams of postgraduate students from Tata Main Hospital, Tata Motors Hospital, and MGM Medical College against each other. The quick-fire questions had the room buzzing, with cheers erupting for sharp answers and clever tactics.
Hands-on learning took center stage next in a packed ultrasound workshop. Attendees rolled up their sleeves for practical demos on early pregnancy scans, detecting birth defects, Doppler studies, and the latest imaging tech. “The real-world tips from the pros were gold,” one doctor shared afterward.

The afternoon dove deep with keynote sessions, debates, and real-case breakdowns led by star guest speakers Dr. Seetha Ram Murthy Pal, Dr. Priti Dubey, Dr. Tulika Joshi, and Dr. Saumya Srivastava. Their insights into maternal-fetal medicine ignited lively debates on everything from preventive strategies to complex interventions.
Come evening, the conference got its formal send-off at Hotel Ramada. Chief Guest Dr. Vinita Singh, General Manager Medical Services at Tata Main Hospital, and Guest of Honour Dr. Sahir Pal, Civil Surgeon of East Singhbhum, delivered motivating speeches that underscored the society’s role in elevating local healthcare.
Veteran voices rounded out the lineup, including Dr. Mamta Rath Datta, Dr. H C Bandhu, Dr. Banita Sahay, Dr. Indu Chauhan, and Dr. Renuka Chaudhary. With sponsors, volunteers, and enthusiastic participation, JOGS hit all its marks in pushing for better outcomes for moms and babies.
JOGS President Dr. Mousumi Das Ghosh hailed the event’s success, thanking everyone involved. Secretaries Dr. Archana Barik, Dr. Anisha Chowdhary, and Dr. Leela Sharma were also singled out for their stellar coordination.
