During an increase in terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi warned Pakistan in the Kargil Vijay Diwas observing ceremony that India would overcome each terror threat. The Prime Minister also broke the first ground for the Shinkun La tunnel in Ladakh, which will be the highest at a height of 4800 meters when through.
Speaking at the Kargil War Memorial 25 years of the Kargil War, PM Modi said that victory was not achieved just 25 years ago, but India also set an example of truth, resignation and strength. Soon, Pakistan, which has been disappointed in all its mal-intentioned schemes in the past, is struggling to remain in the limelight by using terrorism and proxy war.

On 26 th July 1999, the Indian army signalled the triumph of “Operation Vijay” which had regained the posts intruded by Pakistan’s intruders on the Indian territory across the Line of Control in the Kargil district of the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir after nearly three months of war. To honor the victory of India over Pakistan, it is celebrated as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’.
Today, this great land of Ladakh is celebrating the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas. Vijay Diwas Kargil informs us that patriotism is not a term that can be buried.
At the same time, the Prime Minister accused the opposition of distorting the topic of accepting applications for the protection of the Army through Agnipath and deliberately deceiving the youth. He also said the defense reforms were now the priority of the defense sector of his government.

‘Some people are also spreading misinformation about how the government has brought this scheme to save pension money, The issue of pensions for today’s recruits will only arise in about 30 years from now Why would the government take a decision now which should have been left for the governments of that time In our view it was appropriate that the armed forces respected that decision because for us national security is not negotiable’ he said.
He again stressed that infrastructure development and the tourist industry were also rapidly progressing in both Ladakh and the territories of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Whether it is Ladakh, or Jammu and Kashmir, India will overcome every barrier towards development,” said PM Modi, mentioning that in a few days, it will be 5 years since Article 370 was abrogated and J&K is talking about a new future, a new vision, and dreaming big.
Earlier on 26th July, the Prime Minister dedicated the border area of Ladakh by paying obeisance to the martyrs of the Kargil War Memorial wherein he honored the soldiers who sacrificed their lives while fighting during the Kargil War 25 years ago.

After its construction, it will be the tallest tunnel in the world. The Shinkun La tunnel will help the armed forces and war materials to move efficiently and will also help in fostering the economy and society in Ladakh.
