Jamshedpur: In a significant development, Azad Samaj Party’s district spokesperson, Sardar Surjit Singh, held a social meeting at Basti Khalsa Club, East Jamshedpur, where he expressed his desire to contest the upcoming assembly elections from the East Assembly constituency. The meeting saw participation from people and women from various communities, including the Sikh community, Ravidas community, Mukhi community, Rajak community, and Adivasi community.
Singh, who has been involved in various movements, including the Anna movement and farmers’ movement, received overwhelming support from the Sikh community and Bahujan community leaders. They pledged to stand by him if Azad Samaj Party gives him a ticket to contest the elections.

The meeting was attended by prominent leaders, including Central Gurdwara Managing Committee’s head sevadar Sardar Bhagwan Singh, Sunari Gurdwara’s head sevadar Tara Singh, and other heads of various religions from the Gurdwara. They expressed their views, stating that they have come to support a Sikh brother who has the Bahujan ideology.
Azad Samaj Party’s District President Supports Surjit Singh
Duryodhan Mahato, Azad Samaj Party’s district president (East Singhbhum), also supported Surjit Singh’s candidature. He emphasized that Singh’s involvement in various movements and his commitment to the Bahujan ideology make him an ideal candidate for the East Jamshedpur assembly seat.
Sikh Community and Bahujan Community Leaders Pledge Support
The Sikh community and Bahujan community leaders present at the meeting pledged to support Surjit Singh if he gets a ticket from Azad Samaj Party. They stated that Singh’s victory will be a victory for the entire Bahujan community and will bring about a significant change in the political landscape of East Jamshedpur.
