Disability can be saved by early identification of leprosy patient and starting treatment

A one-day free skin check-up camp was organized at Sub-Divisional Hospital, Ghatshila. The district team provided free MCR sandals and self-care kits to leprosy patients along with MDT.
District Leprosy Consultant, Dr Rajeev Lochan Mahato told that under the leprosy patient search campaign, from June 28, 2023, to August 08, 2023, In rural areas:- Chakulia = 32, Baharagora-27, Dhalbhumgarh-11, Ghatshila-17, Musabani-19, Dumaria-15, Potka-43, Jugsalai-72, Patmada-34 along with 38 new leprosy patients were identified and given free MDT medicine in urban areas by Sahiyas.

Dr. Rajeev said that if there is any stain on the body and if there is numbness in the stain, consult a doctor immediately. Free treatment of leprosy is available in all government health centers. Disability can be avoided by early treatment of leprosy.

NCD clinic was inspected by Dr. Rajeev where CHO Sangeeta was also present. She told that free diabetes and blood pressure check-up is to be done for 30 years and above 30 years people in NCD clinic. Medical Assistant Ajay Kumar, MPW Satyendra Kumar, Block Program Manager Mayank Singh and Block Accounts Manager Sushil Kumar contributed in making this camp successful.
