JHARKHAND (Jamshedpur): The investigation into the massive burglary at advocate Javed Jamal’s residence in Hridaynagar has taken a dramatic and unexpected turn. A local notorious criminal, Saddam, has brazenly admitted to masterminding the September 13 heist.
The breakthrough came after Saddam publicly intercepted the advocate’s friend, Syed Samiullah, issuing severe death threats. Acting swiftly on a formal complaint filed by Samiullah, the Kowali police took the accused into custody.

The Daylight Threat
According to the FIR lodged at the Kowali police station, the confrontation took place around noon on September 29, 2026. Syed Samiullah was driving through the busy Haldipokhar market when Saddam suddenly blocked his car.
Samiullah reported that the accused immediately started hurling abuses, specifically referencing the ongoing theft investigation (Case No. 40/2026). “You are getting too involved in this matter. Back off, or I will shoot you dead,”
During the heated exchange, the history-sheeter didn’t just confess that his gang executed the burglary; he also openly bragged about carrying a firearm at all times. Displaying a complete disregard for the law, Saddam claimed immunity from police action, boasting that he acts as an informer for the authorities. Before fleeing the spot, he warned Samiullah that finding him alone would result in his murder.
Deeply traumatized by the daylight intimidation, Samiullah immediately approached the Kowali police, demanding strict legal action and protection for his family. The police wasted no time in apprehending the suspect.
Background of the Heist
The original crime had left the Haldipokhar community in shock due to the unusual modus operandi. On the night of September 13, burglars used a chemical spray inside advocate Javed Jamal’s home, rendering the entire family unconscious for nearly two hours. The thieves managed to decamp with gold and silver jewelry, along with ₹95,000 in cash.
Just a day before this recent confrontation, the advocate had held a press conference in Tentla, revealing that CCTV footage from the night of the crime showed six masked suspects roaming the premises between 2 AM and 3 AM.
With Saddam now behind bars, local residents and social workers who had been heavily pressuring the administration for results are hopeful that the rest of the gang members will be nabbed and the stolen valuables recovered soon. Further interrogations are currently underway.
