Dambulla, on July 25: Sri Lanka cricket team triumphed over Thailand, amassing ten wickets in their last group match in the Women’s Asia Cup yesterday. They will next play Pakistan in the semifinals tomorrow and the defending champions India who will play against Bangladesh in the second semifinal.
Choosing to bat first, Thailand managed to score a rather small 93/7 in 20 overs. Chamari Athapththu 49* and Vishmi Gunaratne 39* were impressive enough to lead Sri Lankan’s to the chase of 94 in 11 overs. 3 overs to obtain a very clear victory.

The last four have their contests scheduled in Dambulla tomorrow and India-Bangladesh followed by Sri Lanka-Pakistan.
