The Indian hockey team has won the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics. India defeated Spain 2-1 in a brilliant match played today, thanks to captain Harmanpreet Singh. Harmanpreet scored goals for India in the 30th and 34th minutes and then India’s defense showed strength throughout the match and stopped Spain from scoring. The only goal for Spain was scored by Marc Miralles Portillo from a penalty stroke.

India also won the bronze medal in the last Tokyo Olympics when it defeated Germany.

Earlier, India had won bronze medals twice in a row in the 1968 Mexico Olympics and the 1972 Munich Olympics.
