Satna, August 01, 2025: Collector Dr. Satish Kumar S, during a meeting held on Thursday at the Collectorate, directed officials to resolve all pending hit-and-run cases involving unidentified vehicles within a week. The meeting, attended by SDMs, traffic police, RTO, and insurance company representatives, also reviewed the progress of the Rahaveer Yojana and Cashless Treatment Scheme.
In hit-and-run accidents, families of deceased victims receive Rs 2 lakh, while seriously injured victims get Rs 50,000 as relief. The district has received 58 cases from police stations, with 5 approved, 5 rejected, and 26 under process. Delays in some cases were due to missing Aadhaar or bank details, which will now be addressed through the DSP Traffic. Of the 31 pending cases in Raghurajnagar Tehsil, 4 cases for deceased victims and 2 for injured victims were approved.
Under the Rahaveer Yojana, citizens who transport seriously injured accident victims to hospitals within the golden hour are awarded Rs 25,000. If multiple individuals assist, the amount is equally divided. A person can avail of this benefit up to 5 times a year.
The Cashless Treatment Scheme, effective from May 5, 2025, ensures free treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh for seriously injured victims in government or private hospitals for 7 days. Post this period, patients can be referred to Ayushman-affiliated hospitals. Chief Medical Officer Dr. LK Tiwari informed that the state government has provided four mortuary vans, two stationed at the Medical College and two at the District Hospital.
The Collector instructed widespread promotion of both schemes to maximize public awareness and benefit.
