Punjab National Bank (PNB) has sanctioned loans worth Rs 400 crore to women in Aurangabad under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, a major initiative by the government for women’s empowerment. The scheme aims to support women’s self-employment through Self Help Groups (SHG), providing significant financial backing. Women who show outstanding performance under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana will also be eligible to receive loans and subsidies of up to Rs 10 lakh.

PNB’s Zonal Head, Nathuram Banjara, announced during a program in Nabinagar, Aurangabad, that over Rs 320 crore has already been distributed under the scheme in this region.

In a recent event, more than Rs 20 crore was disbursed among women known as Jeevika Didis and Lakhpati Didis, highlighting ongoing support for women’s self-employment and small businesses.

The scheme particularly focuses on empowering women from all sections of society, helping them start or expand their enterprises and ultimately enhance family and community well-being.
