Sasaram (Rohtas, Bihar), November 1 – Rohtas police achieved a major breakthrough after arresting five accused in the Shiv Sagar firing case and seizing two kilograms of cannabis along with illegal weapons from Dariyawan area during routine election patrols.

According to DSP Dilip Kumar, the incident in Shiv Sagar began with a dispute over a food bill at a hotel named Highway Hungama on NH-2. The argument turned violent and led to firing late Thursday night. Acting on instructions from the Superintendent of Police, a special team was quickly formed, and with the help of CCTV footage, seven individuals were identified.

A raid at the house of the main accused, Brajesh Kumar Yadav, led to the recovery of a loaded pistol, several live cartridges, four mobile phones, and a Tata Nexon car. Shells from 7.65 mm bullets were also collected from the site. The injured hotel staffer, Nitish Kumar, was shifted to the trauma center in Varanasi for better treatment.

The arrested individuals include Ashok Kumar, Gopal Kumar, Pragati Kumar, Anup Lal Mandal, and Sirajuddin Rayn. Police confirmed that Brajesh Yadav has a past criminal record.
