Shimla/Kangra, May 14:
Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur launched a scathing attack on the Congress party today, covering issues from the NEET controversy to the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections in Himachal Pradesh. Speaking at Kangra Airport, Thakur asserted that the Congress-led state government has failed to deliver on its electoral promises.
On NEET Controversy and CBI Probe
Addressing the ongoing NEET exam dispute, Thakur emphasized that the CBI is handling the investigation with full transparency. He criticized the opposition for playing politics with students’ futures, stating, “The truth will emerge soon as the investigative agencies are working diligently. The opposition should wait for the facts instead of spreading panic.”
Fuel Conservation: A Message for Self-Reliance
Laid-back but firm, the MP praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to trim his convoy and travel schedules. “It’s a powerful message for the nation. Whether it’s using public transport, e-rickshaws, or opting for virtual meetings, saving fuel is essential to reduce our foreign dependency and strengthen our economy,” Thakur noted.
Himachal Municipal Polls and Development
Turning his focus to local politics, Thakur accused the Congress of stalling the Smart City projects in Dharamshala. He claimed that the 10 guarantees promised by the party remain unfulfilled. Calling upon the youth to lead the change, he urged voters to support the BJP in the upcoming municipal elections to ensure a double-engine growth for the region.
