Jamshedpur: A shocking daylight theft took place at Krishna Jewellers, located on the first floor of the Yash Kamal Complex in Bistupur. Two men, posing as regular customers, smoothly walked away with a packet containing 44 grams of gold. The entire crime has been captured on the shop’s CCTV cameras.
According to the shop owner, the two men walked in and asked to see some silver and gold coins. While the jeweler was busy showing them the items, the men started a clever conversation to distract him. Finding the perfect moment, they quietly picked up a packet of gold and slipped it into their pockets.
To make their act look genuine, they even agreed to buy a silver coin. They handed over Rs 2,000 as an advance payment, telling the shopkeeper that they needed to show the coin to their ‘Guruji’ waiting downstairs and would be right back. Trusting their story, the shopkeeper let them go.
When the two men didn’t return after a long time, the owner grew suspicious. He quickly checked his stock and realized the 44-gram gold packet was missing. He immediately checked the shop’s CCTV footage, which clearly showed the men stealing the gold.
A formal written complaint has been filed at the Bistupur police station. The police are now using the CCTV video to track down the culprits.
