Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations yesterday accused Palestinian Islamist group Hamas of war crimes, and vowed that now was the time to “destroy Hamas’s terror infrastructure.” “This is a war crime, a clearly documented war crime,” Israeli UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan said before a closed-door meeting of the 15-member Security Council in New York. Erdan appealed to the international community to fully support Israel and condemn the actions of Hamas.
