Blinken lauds India’s achievements, hails Modi-Biden partnership

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has hailed India’s extraordinary achievements and praised the strong partnership between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden.

Speaking at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum on Thursday, Blinken said that India had made remarkable progress in various fields, such as health, education, energy, and digital innovation, under Modi’s leadership. He also highlighted the positive impact of Modi’s policies and programs, such as the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, and the Digital India Initiative, on the lives of millions of Indians.

Blinken also emphasized the close and cordial relationship between Modi and Biden, who have known each other for a long time and share a common vision for the future. He said that the two leaders had discussed a wide range of issues, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, regional security, and global cooperation, during their phone calls and meetings. He added that the two countries had a global strategic partnership that covered almost all areas of mutual interest and benefit, and that they were committed to working together to address the common challenges and opportunities facing the world.

Blinken also noted the dynamic and vibrant people-to-people ties between India and the US, which were reflected in the contributions of the Indian-American community, the educational and cultural exchanges, and the growing trade and investment links. He said that the US valued India as a friend and partner, and looked forward to deepening and expanding the bilateral ties in the years ahead.
