New Delhi: The Indian cricket team, fresh from their T20 World Cup triumph, arrived in Delhi to a thunderous reception from fans gathered outside the international airport. The team was initially delayed in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl but landed in the national capital early morning.
The squad will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence today before heading to Mumbai for an open bus road show and felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced the victory procession will take place between 5-7 pm from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium, followed by prize money presentation.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the road show, which is expected to draw a large crowd of cricket enthusiasts.
