Jamshedpur, India – On the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day, former MP and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajay Kumar participated in various programs across Jamshedpur, including Loyola School, Telco, Telco Urdu School, Telco Market, and Birsanagar. He hoisted the national flag and addressed the gatherings, emphasizing the importance of remembering the sacrifices of freedom fighters who fought for India’s independence.

Dr. Kumar stressed the need to respect women and end discrimination based on caste and religion, promoting unity among citizens. He also criticized Prime Minister’s Independence Day speech, labeling it as a “BJP leader’s speech” that targeted the opposition rather than addressing the nation’s concerns.

Dr. Kumar pointed out that the PM’s speech failed to mention key issues affecting women, youth, middle class, farmers, and backward classes. He also accused the PM of contradicting himself by taking an oath to the Constitution while calling the Civil Code “communal.” The Civil Code, written by Baba Saheb Ambedkar, is a cornerstone of India’s legal framework, and Dr. Kumar felt that the PM’s comments were an insult to Ambedkar’s legacy.

Furthermore, Dr. Kumar criticized the PM for not providing concrete actions for the safety of Bangladeshi Hindus, despite mentioning them in his speech. He also highlighted the PM’s hypocrisy in discussing nepotism while ignoring the issue within the BJP. Dr. Kumar argued that the PM’s speech was more focused on political rhetoric than addressing the real issues facing the nation.

Dr. Kumar concluded by paying tribute to the soldiers who have lost their lives fighting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, which he felt was overlooked in the PM’s speech. He emphasized the need for the government to prioritize the safety and well-being of its citizens, particularly those in vulnerable communities.

The former MP’s comments reflect the concerns of many Indians who feel that the government has failed to address pressing issues such as unemployment, inflation, and social inequality. As India celebrates its 78th Independence Day, Dr. Kumar’s speech serves as a reminder of the need for unity and collective action to build a better future for all citizens.
