Jyoti Singh Matharu, Vice President of the Minority Commission, has issued a stern warning against the misuse of the Sikh community for political gains. In a recent press release, Matharu emphasized that anti-social elements are deliberately creating political controversies by exploiting the Sikh community, which he deems unacceptable.
Matharu highlighted that if any unpleasant incidents occur during a program and an apology is offered, the matter should be considered resolved. He criticized those who continue to politicize such issues, stating that their actions are harmful and will not be tolerated. He urged the public to be vigilant in identifying and boycotting such individuals who aim to disrupt communal harmony.
“The Sikh community is known for its forgiving nature and compassion,” Matharu said. “If someone apologizes, they should be forgiven, and the issue should not be turned into a political controversy. Those who do so must be cautious.”
Matharu’s statement comes at a time when there is a growing concern about the misuse of religious symbols and communities for political purposes. He called for unity and vigilance to maintain peace and harmony in society.
