In a major crackdown on drug smuggling and crime, Khunti police have achieved big success. They seized about 1,100 kg of opium husk (Doda) worth Rs 1.65 crore and arrested five criminals, including a PLFI Naxalite, along with weapons. This action has created fear among criminals in the area.

On Wednesday night, based on secret information, Khunti SP Manish Toppo formed a team led by station in-charge Mohan Kumar. The team stopped an LP truck in the Siladon area. The people in the truck ran away when they saw the police. During the search, police found the Doda hidden between bags of chemical powder. The truck was seized and brought to the station. On Thursday, the Doda was measured and confirmed to be worth Rs 1.65 crore.

In another case, Khunti police arrested four suspects during a raid. They are Rohit Lohra, Pankaj Ram, Ashutosh Kumar, and Sandeep Kumar. From them, police recovered a country-made pistol, bullets, and two mobile phones, including looted ones. During questioning, they confessed to a dacoity that happened five months ago in the Karra area.

Police also arrested Mahavir Munda from Chiruhatu village. He is linked to PLFI Naxalites. From him, they seized a pistol, two bullets, one empty shell, and a mobile phone.

Khunti SP said these actions are part of ongoing efforts against drugs and crime. The arrests have helped solve old cases and stop illegal activities.
