A section of the iconic Al Mulla Plaza in Dubai collapsed on Saturday night, injuring two people, according to the Dubai Police. The police said that the accident was caused by the pressure of heavy materials on the roof of the shopping centre, which is one of the oldest in the city.
The police and civil defence teams rushed to the scene and evacuated the mall, which is located along the Dubai and Sharjah road. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and the authorities cordoned off the area to ensure public safety.
The police also urged the public not to spread rumours or false information about the incident, and to rely only on official sources. The police said that they were investigating the cause of the collapse and the extent of the damage.
