Bhubaneswar, September 13, 2024 – In a significant move to support ex-Agniveers, the Odisha government has decided to provide a 10 percent reservation and a three-year age relaxation, along with an exemption from the physical test for ex-Agniveers in uniformed services. This decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Opportunities for Ex-Agniveers
The new policy will offer ample opportunities to ex-Agniveers in various uniformed services, including police, forest, excise, fire, and other services as determined by the state government. This initiative aims to integrate ex-Agniveers into the state’s workforce, recognizing their service and dedication.
Reservation Details
The 10 percent horizontal reservation for ex-Agniveers will be applied to all Group “C” and “D” posts in direct recruitment. This reservation is in addition to the existing reservation for ex-servicemen, provided that the ex-Agniveers meet the required minimum qualifications prescribed for the posts in the relevant recruitment rules.
